If you can’t beat them, join them…sort of.
Rabbits need to eat, and like all creatures are very determined about it. Working with them is a really good way to deal with them. Eventually they will be run over by a car, or eaten by a fox or a hawk, so support nature!
Leaving wood sorrel and hostas (i have some that rabbits really like) around as fodder, maybe clover. I had a rabbit eating oregano. The point is, give them something to eat! You can leave a few weeds around for them – at which point those plants are no longer weeds, so good for you on garden maintenance!. Pick plants that are easily controlled. Wood sorrel for instance will pop up all over the place, but is easily controlled by pullng them out – they don;t come back unlike some other plants designed to break off when you pull them and regrow.
Let the rabbits have something to eat and treat other plants you want to protect with something like repellsall –see When to use Repels-All and Repellex animal repellents). Someone told me about the milk / egg homemade option which may work.
Be Watchful
Most importantly you have to keep applying repeatedly. It makes sense to apply lightly with the intent that you will be re-applying fairly regularly as you watch for activity.
